In 2013, Thadaka, a Telugu action entertainer, was released on DVD/Blu-ray with English subtitles. This is a suspenseful story about a cop who needs to save the day and his wife who does not want to let go of what she has been accustomed to. It deals with realistic problems that marriage deals with every day. The audience can experience the struggle as each tries to overcome this obstacle in their lives as they try and make their relationship work which provides them an entertaining movie experience. Devi Sri Prasad composed music for this movie. The movie received positive reviews from critics. mrudula on fullhyd.com rated it 3/5 and commented "Acting of Mahesh Babu is superb as usual. The first half is good with all the fun elements but it dips a bit in the second half after a very entertaining first hour". mruderala on fullhyd.com said "the story may or may not be so unique, but Mahesh Babu made sure that it is at least watchable unlike his previous films". Thaman was praised for his background score also. The positive reviews have prompted the makers of the film to release it in overseas markets. Thadaka has been remade into Kannada as "Tungaa". The film stars Ganesh, Prakash Raj and Sruthi Hariharan in lead roles. It was directed by Murali Krishna.
